    I didnt know it was so involved. Can you still buy herb from dispensaries when they arent your caregiver?

      Yes! There are many local dispensaries that don’t need you as their patient in order to provide quality medication to you. I can recommend some if you’d like!

            Was just listening to Ben, thinking of you.

            Let us burn one, from end to end.
            And pass is over to me my friend.
            Burn it long, but burn it slow,
            to light me up before I go.

            If you dont like my fire, then dont come around.
            Cause I’m gonna burn one down.
            Yes I’m gonna burn one down

            My choice is what i chose to do;
            and if I’m causin no harm,
            it shouldn’t bother you.
            Your choice is who you chose to be;
            and if your causin to harm, then your alright with me.

            If you dont like my fire, then dont come around, cause I’m gona burn one down.
            Yes i’m gonna burn one, down.

            Herb the gift, from the Earth,
            and what’s from the earth is of the greatest worth.
            So before u knock it, try it first.
            and you’ll see it’s a blessing and it’s not a curse.
            If you dont like my fire, then dont come around,
            cause i’m gonna burn one down.
            Yes i’m gonna burn one.

            oh yeah

              Hemptress,

              i really value all of the information you post up on your blog. i am someone who can greatly benefit from medical marijuana due to extensive nerve damage in my back. i am not currently a card member as i’m one of the people who is greatly affected by lack of health care. your articles give me a lot of perspective and insight for things regarding my health. also, one day i might like to be a parent so to hear that it won’t make me any less of a parent to treat my pain in the way that is best for me really gives me some relief. i often feel guilty that marijuana is the best way for me to handle so many of the afflictions that doctors tell me i have and want to prescribe chemicals that alter my personality so much more. this is not something i’m supposed to feel. knowing i’m not the only person who thinks in this way really helps. i only wish you gave relationship advice.

                Shannon-
                Thank you so much for your comment. I write to help people understand the process and to know that it helps, even one person, keeps me going! Thank you so much.

                To be quite honest with you, Parenting under the haze of narcotics/opiates/mood stabilizers ect… is far more dangerous to your children than medicinal cannabis. I encourage you to acclimate yourself to cannabis far before you have kids, in order to reduce the side effects of starting this medication. Those side effects generally show in a higher high, more paranoia and increased munchies, but decrease over time with use. As far as relationship advice, Ill dish it out occasionally, but shit, Im much better at marijuana than men! Lol.

                Thanks alot girl!

                I have been doing a lot of thinking about this lately. The dispensary that I started with is definitely a lot better than having to deal with the regular dealer runaround. I don’t know how long this market can sustain like it is when people figure out how much money is being made on them. I am not saying they should not make money at all, I am considering joining them! I do believe, however, that a 10% discount is a joke.

                Of course I am all idealistic at this point, but I think that in exchange for the license to grow six plants, the caregiver should provide the medicine from one plant for free. That leaves 5 plants that can provide medicine for others, and provide income for the person growing them. This is not taking into account any other caregiver services, which a lot of dispensaries also do not provide. A word we often hear associated with MMJ is “compassion.” $4-5 off an 8th does not sound like compassion to me. One of my other crazy ideas is for each purchase, pledge $1 or a percent of the purchase to end marijuana persecution. I think we can be compassionate to each other, passionate about what we believe in, and united in our goal.

                  I think you are right Jeremy, absolutely. Im looking to find some growers who are interested in writing about their policies. This was great: I think we can be compassionate to each other, passionate about what we believe in, and united in our goal. and right on!!!
