Goodbye Michael

Michael Jackson has shocked the world once more with his unexpected and untimely death. He was a cultural icon and pop music legend who inspired many of today’s top recording artists, he helped transform the music video into an art form and won 13 Grammy’s. Michael has touched many of us in one way or another; a friend of mine once enjoyed MJ’s face on her fifth birthday cake.

I remember rocking out to “Billy Jean” and “Black or White” as a young girl, I adored the King of Pop and was not fazed when he turned out to be a plastic surgery crazed weirdo. MJ could curb a puppy and I’d still think his music was fantastic. The Guinness Book of World Records named him “Most Successful Entertainer of All Time”. He made history as one of the first black artists to be featured on MTV. I will truly miss Mr. Jackson, but his catchy lyrics and upbeat rhythms shall remain in my heart forever.

Thank you Michael Jackson for gracing us with your talent and charisma, it was a wild ride, you lost many of us along the way, but your true fans saw you through. Farewell, may you continue to inspire generations from beyond.

The Hills made me Bulimic.

stephanie-pratt-b_0This was the announcement on the cover of US weekly as I stood in line at the grocery store last night. Stephanie Pratt was somehow still making an appearance into my life, even though the failure of her television show had greatly reduced the amount of time I had to look at her. Im not one to knock a valid disorder, bulimia is a terrible affliction and many people suffer from it all the time. My problem with this headline is the way our dear Stephanie Pratt has decided to blame a reality television show for a serious and life altering illness. She explained in the article that she was overly insecure because she had to work with skinny people. Sigh. I wont discount the fact that she had to work with skinny people, everyone on that show was moderately attractive, if not completely void of common sense.Instead of explaining what was wrong with her, Id like to offer her an outside perspective.

The real reasons Stephanie Pratt sticks her finger down her throat.

You are superficial. Reality TV is terrible, demeaning and meant to humiliate the contestants. You saw what happened to your friends and family from the show. You signed up anyway. lauren-conrad-whitne-port-stephanie-pratt-15834209You are fat. Not in my book, I think you might even put on a few pounds before I would ask you not to wear a bikini, but you look good. Unfortunately in the realm of reality TV where you chose to go, you are fat. There are healthy and productive ways to lose weight without sticking your finger down your throat, but this was the easiest way to get there for you. You are an idiot. Clearly you think being stick-skinny is better than being healthy, so much so that you will pursue any method of acquiring that tiny waistline. You are Hungry. Not just for food and sustenance, but also for a ridiculous amount of celebrity. Do you know why people like Jennifer Aniston and Julia Roberts are on top of the entertainment industry? Its because if they have an eating disorder no one knows about it. You may think that “coming out” in some big dramatic US weekly ad is going to snag you a little more of that fame you so desperately seek, but you arent ever going to be taken serious. Congratulations on shooting yourself in the foot.

So what do you think about Stephanie Pratts new spotlight grabber?

Do you think ‘the hills’ made her bulimic?
