The
stumbling community is a supportive one, and you can gradually increase your
community activity to the point where people will often thumb your material without thinking twice. This is bad for everyone, even though it feels oh-so-good. To combat the problem of duplicate stumbles and general unhappiness with the stumble
rhythm, they have introduced three new things you can do with your thumbs.
First,
install the toolbar. Stop kidding yourself and do it. Get rid of the ask.com virus and install the stumbleupon toolbar so you can crack out like the rest of us. Now that you have done that, Lets explore these new options.Instead of the regular thumb down, there are now additional options available to
make sure you don’t jack up your future stumbling.
Thumb Down – Not for me.
So you came to a site, obviously not this one, but a site that you just don’t care for. It is your right to rate it with a thumbs down. Your first thought is usually the right one, if you don’t like the page thumb it down it. You can click the thumbs down or you can click the option menu next to it and choose the “not for me” option. It means just what it says, not for you. Like fatties on mopeds, some things just don’t work out. Let’s move on.
Thumb Down- Stumbled this before.
Ive seen the same damn picture of the same ridiculous guido in a popped collar shirt and soaked in self-tanner at least a dozen times and now it is the same website coming up again. The captions may change, but the douchebags are the same. So you have seen it before too? It isn’t that you aren’t enjoying the site, its the repetition that hurts so bad. You’ve stumbled it, mark it so. I believe this has some benefit to the people you are rating, the website that is holding the mcdouche picture but has mostly good content otherwise wont be eliminated from your stumble queue, but the particular post should be. You will still get their stumbles, but you shouldn’t get the same one over and over again.
Thumb Down-Too much like this lately.
This option is rad, admit it. This is the option that I was dreaming of, and it was a good dream one the I woke up from needing a glass of ice water and a cold shower. Too much like this lately is a fantastic option for the same shit, on a different site. You have seen it before, but you love your unoriginal blogging buddies so much that you simply can’t hit them with a full blown DENY. You have seen the same stuff, too close together. Stumble can’t get to know you if you don’t give it all your secrets. This also allows the content builder (me, you, the people that find these pictures on the internet) to watch how pages are being ranked and submit accordingly. Help me, help you not have to read shitty material.

While these three things are all working in favor of the post you are rating, the last option in the thumb down is the “Block this website”. This is pulling the switch and torching the site into virtual stumble oblivion. Sure, you can reach it again by typing in the URL, but who uses those anymore? If the button works, you won’t ever have to see this guy again and that should make everyone a little calmer.
Remember folks, Stumbleupon is the best girlfriend you have ever had, but you can’t expect her to do all of your favorite mattress tricks if you don’t tell her all of your
favorite things. Take twenty minutes and update your profile to what you want to see, and
stumble responsibly.
Now, go and thumb up this post.

Stumbling is the reason I never get my work done before 4am.
Totally giving this a thumbs up. Great new blog and kudos on the big move. I’ll be following you here like usual. Not in a creepy way…. in a “I like what you write” kinda way. I’ve been rambling a lot tonight. Sorry, bye!
I suppose I must learn how to stumble.

This is where I go off to install the toolbar on this computer… It’s only installed on my PC as of this moment… *wanders off*
