I suppose I will take a few moments and introduce myself. The name is December, but many of you know me as AntiSoccermom. This place is much bigger than where I have been blogging for the past six or so years, the circus tent of Xanga was more Tee-Pee than I realized. However, I want to shamelessly pull some of the 4,000 readers that I had over there by talking about the reasons for my leaving.

It’s okay kids, Mommy still loves Daddy, we just need to start seeing other people.

I left the confines of Xanga for two reasons. The first being that Xanga has been a cruel and ruthless avenue for morons to contact me. I did well on Xanga, but it was very taxxing. The second reason is because I could not adequately protect myself with xanga, despite my best efforts to initiate an IP block. The reasons are that, no more and no less. Blogging within a community like Xanga or Livejournal or *shiver* Myspace has some pros and some cons. When you do it for as long as I have, it really can be less enjoyable than it should be. Become a blogging “celebrity” and you will understand what I am talking about. All the drama, none of the perks. Human nature is a pretty vicious animal, and walking away from a community based on cores values that are less than aligned with my own, becomes inevitable. Eventually a blogger will outgrow their first blog and create another one. With growth, there is pain – as my website can attest. Stick with me friends, I will still be on xanga to communicate with you. I will still be writing the way you have come to expect. You can subscribe to my RSS feed or catch me over at the BFN.

Hi, So I think you actually made the right choice of leaving xanga. The day any one xangan is given formal apology or higher precedence over another is the day I would leave to. I used to use xanga so much before, before it was so clique-y. However, sometimes I feel the essence of xanga is changing. You are an excellent writer and deserve the respect you seek.

                  Good luck

                  Truly yours,

                  Zana <3

I didn’t really talk to you much on Xanga, but I was a disappointed to see that you had left. I am happy to see that you are still blogging even if you have moved on to a new site.

listen, you need to come back. did you realize your poem got more votes than everyone else’s? and no one even knew it was you. the contest still has 2 more rounds till the final battle, but i expect yours to win. you can fucking write, girl. i quit worrying about the “xanga comuntiy’ years ago. i write when i feel like it, for myself and for my friends…not ‘xanga’. i don’t care about the so called ‘community’. but when you look at the numbers, all the other blog services, despite having more members, have far fewer people reading and responding to posts. sad but true, xang *is* the home for writers on the net.

I just had a hunch that I should check here for a blog. Good thing I did. I’m going to miss your blogs on Xanga, but as much as I do, the fact that you’re here is a great step up. It’s blogging on your own terms, with your own rules. I wish sometimes that I can aford myself the luxury of blogging my way.

I love you. You’ve been b’m'ed on my “blogs” folder and I will still read you religiously.

Well, can ASMness be a religion? I dunno, but next year on my census form I’ll put it on there.

                            :D

I was sorry to see you leave. You were one of the few xanga celebrities that I read on an active level. I love your bold writing style. ♥

I hadn’t come here before, but I think I’ll start poking my head around a bit more.
